Please excuse our dust while we work on the new site!

FYI, We’re your community members, working toward getting family friendly trails in the Idaho Falls and Ammon areas.

Why Do We Need Trails In the Idaho Falls Area?

  • To tie communities together
  • To provide a safe place for exercise and promote healthy living
  • To provide safe access to schools, shopping, and entertainment for bikers, walkers, joggers and people who love to get outside
  • To allow for a more eco-friendly and non-congested commute in our growing towns.
  • To connect great places and great people!
  • To create a more desirable community to live in

If you live in the Idaho Falls/Ammon area (or outside of it!) and are interested in joining and helping out with our efforts, please contact Joe Blakley @ (208) 716-1293.  We’re looking for any resources and talents that may help with the cause.  Right now our biggest effort is to get the word out, so we can get the support of community members and government organizations who we will need to accomplish our goal of family friendly trails connecting our East Idaho Communities!

Along the trail, we’ll need financial donations to make this project happen. We anticipate that the project will be funded by a combination of private donations, grants, and funding provided by the cities, county and state. Every little bit of funding or donations of time and talents can help to get the word out, gain access to the real estate needed, and to create and maintain the trails, etc.

Where will the trails be?

We have some initial places that we would love to see trails developed and where we think they can make the largest impact for the most people. The goal would be to create trails throughout the area to link every part of town in a reasonable way. Initially we would like to see a trail along Sand Creek, which could potentially connect thousands of residents of Iona, Ammon and Idaho Falls. It would allow trail users easy access to places like: RMMS/Bonneville HS, Ammon Wal-Mart Shopping Center, College of Eastern Idaho, Target Shopping Center, The Grand Teton Mall, Hillcrest HS, Edwards Theater, Cabella’s/Broulim’s Shopping Center, Sand Creek Golf Course, etc. It would also connect people to major east/west arteries for biking and walking travel. Connecting to Lincoln, First Street, 17th Street and Sunnyside Rd. would allow residents on the East side to travel clear to the Idaho Falls Greenbelt and other locations on the West Side of Idaho Falls, while staying out of traffic as much as possible. This could be a huge asset to all the communities along the path!

**We also HIGHLY encourage Idaho communities to provide great sidewalks and bike lanes anywhere they can, so the trails will be enhanced by safe travel options for those who opt not to drive everywhere they go…

If you can support a project like this in our community WE NEED YOU! We can use your time, talents or finances to make this vision a reality. We can improve our neighborhoods, our health and the future of our community by pitching in and working toward the vision of a better Idaho.

Thanks for reading and sticking with us. If you see the vision with us and would like to contribute or be a part of this project, please contact Joe Blakley (208) 716-1293.
